With specialist expertise in paediatrics; food allergies, gastrointestinal conditions, blended diets and intestinal failure, Rachel qualified at Leeds Metropolitan University in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in Dietetics.
Having spent the last 12 years working in Sheffield and Manchester children’s hospitals, including being part of the specialist Allergy and Gastroenterology services at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Rachel is an expert dietitian, with a passion for teaching and education.
Rachel has worked with the RCPCH, running their allergy modules and has presented at RCGP events as well as National and International conferences. She is a key member of the North West Allergy group developing resources with a drive to support Primary care services and improve the management of infants and children with Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy through early diagnosis and the appropriate use of restricted diets.

Rachel’s hospital experience has led to her contribution of a ‘Nutrition’ chapter to the ‘Learning to Care’ publication. She also writes regular articles for the Network Health Digest, covering such topics as Crohn’s Disease and Gastro-intestinal conditions.
Rachel Wood lives with her family in Saddleworth, always aiming to achieve a good work/life balance. In her ‘me time’ she has completed three marathons and is always looking for new adventures.
